Seven days ago my parents decided they needed a website for the antique silver business. We settled on a domain name very quickly and registered www.hopejspencer.com. I set up a hosting account, installed WordPress and then uploaded the premium Thesis WordPress theme.
We have just started to add a bit of content, but already my Mom loves the typography, line spacing, the openness of the design and the clean simple lines. The theme properly focuses on the text and the images while providing a lot of behind the scenes control.
The Thesis Open Hook plugin provides a ton of functionality while revealing access to some of the inner workings of WordPress to the average user.
After one telephone tutorial my Dad is writing posts, editing pages and uploading images to their new website. My parents are very impressed with how easy WordPress is to use.
Keeping the site up to date is going to be pretty easy for my parents. Scheduling and doing it will be the hardest part. My Dad is only just learning how to use WordPress, but with a little guidance, he figures it will not be hard to keep the site up to date.
If you are looking for early American coin silver or sterling silver from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries www.hopejspencer.com is a great place to find flatware, hollowware and other interesting antique silver objects. Please drop by and cheer my parents on in their first visit to the WordPress corral. 😉
